Hestia
Goddess of the Hearth and Home
As Zeus's sister, she was originally one of the Twelve Olympians, but she gave up her throne to Dionysus. She tends the sacred fire at the center of Mt. Olympus.
Roman name: Vesta (patron goddess of the Vestal Virgins)
Parents: Eldest child of Kronos and Rhea
Spouse, lovers, children: None. Virgin goddess.
Epithets: The Eldest
Attributes: veil, kettle
Wait, where's the picture?? Like Leto, Hestia is a famously modest goddess. There are very few surviving statues or vase paintings of her! All the photos on this site were taken by myself or my husband, so when we come across a good Hestia in our travels, I'll post a photo here.
